Charlottesville on the BBC

A pretty good write-up on Charlottesville was up on the BBC website yesterday. It mainly covers the Charlottesville jail which the BBC reporter describes as “unusually pleasant.” Nice to see some across-the-pond coverage of our favorite town, though perhaps next time they will spend some more time reporting on our “funky” town center instead of our laws.

Enjoy!

Jesus Christ. Two years in jail is ridiculous for serving beer to high school kids. You’d think a formal apology to the parents and community service would have sufficed. When will Americans stop being so prude?

Boiled sweets? I had no idea we had those in the US. I wonder what we call them. What an embarrassing article: “Look at the funny little puritans!” I agree that 27 months in jail is an unjust sentence for the crime.
