they should make a new categories for next year, best restaurant not on the mall, that way zocalo won’t be able to win that one a maybe mas or other sweet spots will have a chance.

i wonder how many ads they sold for the companies who were “voted by the readers?”

let’s do a count and see how many ads for the companies are on the same page as their “winning” listing!

    my name says it all.

Glad to see everyone’s enthusiasm for Best Of! I’ll second that McGrady’s shout out, as well as Baja, Mellow, and Bluegrass’s awards.

This is entirely reader voted. For every winner that runs a lot of ads, there is a winner who doesn’t run any ads. How many ads have you seen in the C-Ville for Rack Room Shoes…I’ll guarantee you it’s a big fat zero. If you see a pattern, it’s because our readers vote for who they patronize the most, and they patronize the people they see ads for (thats the whole point of advertising in case you didn’t get it).

Besides, if we were going to base this all on ad sales, we’d be smart enough to separate the ads from the awards. That crap is the domain of the Daily Progress (Arby’s for Best Brunch? Favorite Walk In Medical Center?).

    The C-Ville has spoken.

Tim - I guess the question is how many votes are there in each respective category….
