Oxo’s website is absolutely awful and says nothing about their late night singles scene parties.We’ve been hearing some things about OXO going after those money-spending singles. With the Darden kids in town it seems as though it would appropriately attract some pre-$150k salary egos. We’ll be there checking it out, without the egos.
On another note, don’t Darden people stick out like a sore thumb, or is it just me?
The advert in The Hook (page 60) says “Lounge. Mingle. Flirt. Play Dance.” And, apparently at 11PM there is Hot Milk. I have no idea what that means but Music is included so even if it turns into a porn-fest, at least you can be enjoying music with the exciting scenery.
They do have $5 dollar champagne and cocktails. Hmmm….can’t be all that bad.

I discovered the $5 champagne a few weeks ago. It was like the party gods parted the clouds and smiled down on me.
despite being a little pricey, this is my favorite new scene in an otherwise tired cville night life. But don’t write too much about it because we don’t want this cat too far out of the bag!
But.. what is HOT MILK?!
I did a quick google search, and I don’t think it’s the Australian Breastfeeding Assocation’s annual conference, as much as I would like it to be.
Stopped in briefly last weekend. Cool spot…it’s be cool to see a few more faces (but not too many more…I actually enjoy being able to move and not waiting for a drink).
Perhaps Hot Milk is a band?

Hot Milk is the DJ’s name. And the website sucks because I haven’t updated it in like, three years. Maybe I’ll create a Myspace for Late night.

Hey Sha Nay Nay, any chance of you auditioning a 2nd DJ? I don’t want to take hot milk’s job or anything… but:
a) I’ll do it for free. I just got here from L.A. where I started learning how to DJ and I’d love the chance to hone my abilities on a crowd.
b) I will actually mix songs.
c) I have many possible sets depending on the kind of night you want to throw (anywhere from 60’s mod, rock and soul, 70’s glam, disco and funk, 80’s new wave, no wave, post-punk, mutant disco, retro pop hits, and old school, 90’s britpop, baggy, shoegaze, indie, madchester, twee, early hip hop, (and various crowd pleasing pop hits), and 00ts electro(clash), new rave, UK lad rock, and contemporary club hits. and many genre blurring good times in between. (I’m a little weak when it comes to downtempo stuff, contemporary hip hop and house music, but hot milk seems to have those bases covered)
d) I’m a dancer myself, and when I’m not djing i’d totally help whip up the crowd
e) I would volunteer my time and effort to help promote the night
and f) did I mention i’ll do this for free?!?!
