Whole Foods Move to KMart/Gold’s Gym Area Confirmed (CORRECTED)

Looks like the birdies were right, Whole Foods is confirming the move to Albemarle Place (I am retarded re Joel’s comment.)

What I meant to say was that Whole Foods is confirming the move to the location near KMART as we predicted a few weeks ago.

Does this mean Trader Joes is still on the horizon?

Wait, this article says that Whole Foods is NOT moving to Albemarle Place. They’re moving next to Kmart on the other side of Hydraulic. Sorry little birdies!

Can’t wait for people to see what the “new” Whole Foods looks like. They had finally built one in Baton Rouge before I left and it was amazing… the one here is just a mini, run-down version.

The one is DC is great. Just dont turn the incorrect way and find yourself in the DC versionof the Castro District. We enjoyed the chasnge of pace, but it left my parents a bit nervous.

Mmmmmm….wife made clams casino to go with the Dogfish 90 Minute IPA while watching the game. Life is good.

I thought the problem with Trader Joe’s opening up shop was that they didn’t have a distribution facility within range? (no direct knowledge of this, just what I’ve heard). Nothing that happens in C-ville would change this unless the distribution problem went away… maybe someone knows the status of that?

The staff at Whole Foods has known they were moving to the Kmart shopping center for quite some time. When one of the guys mentioned it to me a while ago, I didn’t think anything of it. Oops.

If you want to see an amazing Whole Foods, check out the mother ship in Austin, TX. It’s shockingly huge (80,000 sq. ft.) and very impressive.

They willneed to solve the traffic issue. ITs a pain to wiat two light roatations to get out of the lot with Kmart and Golds traffic. Add another bunch of cars and it will be backed up around the stores.

Anybody know more details/rumors about the grocery store for the A&N location? Chain, independent, upscale, 24 hour, etc.?

I drove past it today, and construction has begun on something there. I’m actually fairly surprised, because I was certain the Terrace was part of the right of way for the Hillsdale Drive Extension. Check out the map on this page. It depicts the road extension going right through here.
