City Officials Fly to Tuscany on Tax Payer’s Bill

Hey, if Al Gore can fly around on government private jets, why can’t our little politicians fly on commercial airlines?

WCAV Reports:

Three school officials and two members of city council are visiting Charlottesville’s sister city Poggio a Caiano. They say the purpose of this trip is for the schools to potentially spark a student cultural exchange program.

Poggio a Caiano is our “sister city.” I have no idea what that means. It looks pretty nice, judging by the pictures on Flickr. But, get this,

Poggio a Caiano is a COMMUNE, no lie.

Is “sister” city code name for [communist] brother city? Are our city officials CARD CARRYING MEMBERS? I BELIEVE THIS CALLS FOR AN INVESTIGATION…

Anyway, is it ok for tax payers to cover a trip for these politicians?

    The mayor of Poggio a Caiano was in town in July, and addressed City Council. The audio of that is on the Charlottesville Podcasting Network.
