You would think that Charlottesville’s had enough partying between Halloween and the nice weather, but this weekend should be pretty wild.
Of course, the Virginia Film Festival is going on. Whether or not you think it sucks, you can view the entire schedule on VA Film’s website. Perhaps those more plugged into the scene could highlight key events and movies worth seeing. If you get into one of the infamous parties, you have to do something that we can write about. And by do something, we mean offer a joint to John Turturro and get kicked out by his bodyguards. You can also be more creative, the possibilities are endless. You can read Hipster Doofus’ memoirs to understand how to create more.
Artini, round 2? We loved Artini this summer, despite running out of booze and a less-than-stellar DJ, while you probably can’t afford the $950 dollar tickets for Live Arts annual Gala Event (read rich people get drunk, entertained and bid on things that make them feel sexy), you can probably attend the $40 open bar party afterwords; some call it DreamNight, we call it, please let there be leftover booze from the rich people.
If you haven’t had enough of apples, there is a Virginia Apple Harvest festival happening in Southern Albemarle County. Details are listed on the Vintage Virginia Apples website.
No entirely this weekend, but on Tuesday the Police will steal your hard earned cash for a show at John Paul Jones Arena.
What’d we miss? The mall will be nice and crowded this weekend with all the Film Festival peeps… should be wild.

Does anyone know if the Fringe Festival is still in existence? It usually happens in conjunction with teh film fest, but I don’t know if it’s actually the same people.
It is the first Friday of the month, so all the art galleries are open for…First Fridays.
Are saying the Fringe Festival is tonight, or did you think I meant First Fridays (which I did not)?
Should read “are you saying…”
I was not commenting on your question Lys, but answering the “What’d we miss?” from above.
Oh don’t worry. They get separate booze just for the after-partiers. And they won’t run out. See you there.
