“Hard Hitting No Non Sense Conservative Right Winger” Takes a Rip on “Democratic” CVUV

A blog named “Spank That Donkey (STD)” is pointing out that a “smear campaign” by Crime Victims United of Virginia has lost its steam because Liz Seccuro, who as far as I know didn’t have any issues with justice, has left the group.

So, basically, here’s the deal. Denise Lunsford is a democratic running against the incumbent republican Jim Camblos. Apparently, because the CVUV was promoting a democratic candidate against a republican, they are, according to STD, running a smear campaign. Maybe I’m missing something here. Help me out.

Also, I wouldn’t normally bring you diseases, but the author of STD has such a ridiculous bias, that his site is worth reading for your afternoon entertainment. He also ends his post with a little stick at Waldo:

Just as an a side, exactly how many PACS include Waldo’s Political Blogroll, (cleverly named Virginia’s Political Blogroll), in their sidebar, and exactly why would they?

The answer is obvious: because STD knows more about the liberal conspiracy than the rest of us.

Just for information, Denise Lunsford is not an incumbent, she’s a defense attorney, and in my experience not a very good one at that, though its been (many) years since she represented me poorly. Also, Liz Seccuro shouldn’t have anything to complain about that race, as her attacker was prosecuted by the City of Charlottesville rather than Albemarle County where the Camblos/Lunsford race is taking place. In my opinion the Assistant City Commonwealths Attorney Claude Worrell did a horrible job in the Seccuro/Beebe case (not determining that sentencing rules in effect at the time of the offense would apply and allow Beebe out after what.. like 8 months? before cutting a deal with him should have gotten Worrell fired. Then he put his name in the hat to be Albemarle’s Circuit Court Judge? Laughable.
    Just my opinion.

Wow…would love to know the details on this one!

I hate to say it, but I don’t know Denise first hand. My vote for her is really a vote against Jim Camblos, who is a blight that needs to go.

Is Worrell up for something? From what I can tell, he hasn’t been elected…ever. He holds an appointed position. Anyway, he seems to bring about passionate responses, both good and bad. It’s interesting that the fans focus on his character (he has dignity, humility etc.) while detractors focus on actual work habits (disorganized, flies by the seat of his pants, unprepared).

I kinda know Camblos, just a little (still waiting for that to pay off somehow) and while he’s a bit of a bastard, in my humble opinion thats who you want prosecuting people. Claude Worrell is just a fuck-up. I don’t care how nice of a guy he is, the fact that Beebe walked out of jail about 8 months after he checked in means that someone screwed the pooch. The city screw up the Alston/Sisk case too but all you hear about is how Camblos didn’t prosecute a car accident 8 years ago?
Maybe I’m giving away my identity to a couple of people here, but Claude Worrell was a fuck-up back while he was working for the Virginia State Bar, and I don’t know how you could be stupid enough to screw that up? Anyway, he’s just an assistant to Dave Chapman, but I thought he had a lot of nerve trying to be a Circuit Court Judge.

Anyone else notice that Denise Lunsford only blinks twice in her tv add? its like 45 seconds long… she even manages to squeeze in a Tim Kaine-ish eye-brow arch without blinking? Is she like that in court? I bet she does a mean ‘Robot’
