that would be wallace shawn. as i recall, he lives in or near c’ville. a friend of mine who used to work at the virginian back in the day said shawn used to come in all the time and ordered wings. but he stopped frequenting the VA after they discontinued his favorite app.

I see Sissy Spacek at Whole Foods like all the damn time. This past Saturday, she was harassing (in a good-natured way, not at all celeb-bitchy) a clerk about their lack of a particular hand sanitizer in a travel size, and had even brought the empty bottle of the brand she wanted to replace. The Whole Foods clerk was like, “You could just get the regular size and fill up that small bottle.”
And Sissy was like, “No that’s ok, I’ll just come back.”
And I was struck that S.S. does not have someone in her life to do these things for her.

Sam Shepard and Jessica Lange used to live I think somewhere in the whole Keswick-Gordonsville-Barboursville triangle, maybe Somerset? I heard a story of him getting so wasted (maybe at C&O?) that some guys there had to drive him home. They left him on the front porch, rang the doorbell and ran/drove off. According to my source, Jessica came out on the porch cursing and beat Sam with a broom as they drove away. This may have happened more than once…
