Come to the downtown mall and head toward the amphitheater for the Holiday City Market. It’s happening every Friday and Saturday through Christmas, 10-5, so this isn’t your only chance to pick up unique crafts and collectibles.
However, this weekend is your only chance to bring your little’uns to Court Square for the Jeffersonian Thanksgiving Festival. Costumed ex-revolutionaries and craftspeople will do reenactments and demonstrations throughout the day today. See the whole schedule online at www.jeffersonthanksgiving.org.
If you’ve secured a babysitter for tomorrow night to attend Governor Jefferson’s Thanksgiving Ball, as was printed in the C-VILLE’s advertising supplement (which is lovely, by the way!), you may need to double-check if it’s happening. It’s not on the festival’s online calendar.
See you around!

Normally I am absolutely against anything Christmas-y before turkey day, but I was totally in the holiday spirit today while running earrands on the mall… italian hot cocoa in hand from Splendora’s and “Jungle Bell Rock” blasting from the boombox near the tree volunteers were decorating by The Paramount… what can I say, I’m corny.
Okay, I was going to let the misspelling of errands go, but Jungle Bell Rock would be a very different sort of Christmas song…
How come the town tree never completely lights up?
Any interest in a cool gifts “thread”? I definitely have some gifts to buy for people who have everything and I’d love to see what other people have on their shopping lists to get ideas.
Oooh, TheUpstart, great idea for a thread. I’ll start, found this today and ordered it for a good friend who has everything. Nerd alert (that would be moi)!

A jigsaw puzzle of the front page of the NY Times for any date.
Like I said, nerdy, but also kinda cool if a date is important to someone.
“Jungle Bell Rock” - wasn’t that the Kool & The Gang song from Pulp Fiction?
I typically default to gift cards when I’m shopping for someone picky and/or well-accoutred. I’m buying several iTunes cards, plus for the one person I know who still burns CD’s an extremely cool orange patent leather CD sleeve. I also purchased a Peet’s coffee sampler for a coffee snob friend (I fall squarely in that category myself). I got it when I was out in California but I think you could order online. If not, Illy is always a great choice.
