cVillain Undergound, Super Top Secret, Killer, Rad, You Better Be There PARTY/MEETUP

Ok folks, I figured it was about time to tell you we have penciled in 9:15PM at Zinc on Thursday, December 6th for our next cVillain Meetup. Keep reading for the deets and RSVP in comments.

If you show up, drink specials may be in the works. Trust me they are good.

Thomas (from Zinc) has offered a raffle drawing for a dinner for two for anyone that shows up. Drop your name in the hat. Winner will be announced at 11PM.

We’ve asked one of our readers to DJ, but have not gotten a response yet. Maybe he will read this and come out of his shell. Do you want to DJ? If so, drop us a line.

Other ideas? Should be pretty good times. I look forward to seeing everyone there! Tell your friends.

Ooooo. Ponies! Well, vaguely scary pink plastic ponies. Is that Princess Sparkle? I loved her work on “The O.C.”

I’m in for the par-tay. Thanks for getting all this together, Thor!

    Mencia-ing my jokes.

    Good one. He’s an ass.

10pm? Is that so we can already be sufficiently lubricated and people will just start busting out their screennames?

“Hellllooooo, I’m Shamansha. Nishe ta meet youse.”

Man, whatever happened to meeting after work, between 7-8pm? Ethan feels old in the other thread for not knowing about the bands mentioned, I feel old in this thread for thinking I’ll already be hammered by 10pm on a Thursday and will not want to meet anonymous blog commenters.

You people are too young for me. Going out at 10pm was sooooo 1995. And besides, now that my drug dealer has been arrested and is unavailable, I won’t have the, umm, incentive to stay up late. ;-)

Nice idea Thor, thanks for making the arrangements. I’ll try to make it.

  16. 28 Nov 2007 at 8:26 pmThor said:

PLEASE MAKE IT! We’ll do earlier meetups in the future to make sure you cooler people can make it ;)

You had me at ‘drink specials’
I’ll be there, or maybe not (still not sure about blowing my cover, so I’ll probably attend and then ask everyone on here how it was as if I didn’t, or miss it and then blog about what a sausage-fest it was). It’ll be interesting to see if the dynamic duo show; Lilith will be a dead give-away with the gladiatorial eye candy on her arm, and Thor will just wander around with that recently-broken-up glassy eyed despondency, so they should be easy to spot at least.

  18. 28 Nov 2007 at 8:27 pmThor said:

With pink ponies as our Picture, I sure do hope that we attract the opposite of a sausage fest.

Man o man, its the middle of the night and Im a little on the post gig spun tip, but dig… I would love to play the party but seriously… I got moms coming in that night from cali, and she hasn’t been around for ages. Plus I pay the night before and the night after… but all of that is neither here nor there… I pretty sure most of you all wouldn’t dig the stuff I play. I have personally driven out of escafé… oy, two of four, nay nay plus guest, tim, plus probably a few I haven’t met yet with my electronic shenanigans… Anyway. I really dont know which end is up anymore.

Basically, I would really hate to dissappoint. You all are much hipper than me musically. You need someone with more immediate flexibility.

As a side note, whichever lady villain came up to me before I started my set tonight and paid me an unexpected compliment… damn, you totally made my night. Truly. That was very nice. I was speechless for hours. Still am. My gratitude.

I too am antiquated but I will endeavor to attend. Do they serve “crank”? I don’t know what crank is mind you, but my grandchildren swear by it. They work two jobs, attend school, and keep a very active social life. I ask them, “Boys, when do you sleep? You’ve got slow down before you collapse.” And they always tell me, “Shut it, granpa! All we need is money for more crank. Now give us your wallet!” They’re so full of life those two, so … energetic.

    PS: Is Zinc wheelchair accessible?

    YES IT IS,
Thor seems like some people have an early bedtime on school night, must the over 40 crowd. We can always bump it to 9:30pm instead.

As a matter of fact even earlier wouldn’t be a problem but that would depend on the numbers of people showing up and would probably make it difficult to have a dj since we may have people still having diner.

  36. 29 Nov 2007 at 12:13 pmLys said:

Oh please oh please 9:30… figure no one wants to be the first one there so everyone wasn’t going to show up until a half hour later anyway, which brings you right back to 10. Plus a little being able to hear each other speak might be good as we let the alcohol kick in just in time for me to sneak away when the DJ starts (sorry folks, I make Elaine look like she should be a rockette and I’ve successfully avoided anything you could describe as dance music since my freshman year of college).

(and this is coming from a twenty-something, so it ain’t just the old who value a good night’s sleep, it’s also the lame)

I’d love to back it up to 9:30, at the very least. For exactly the reasons Lys states. You SAY “9:30,” but people really don’t begin rolling in until closer to 10.

Batesville: I like the way you think.

Oh, come ON, people! Yes, the meetup is on a Thursday night so you’ll just have to bite your lip and give ‘er at work on Friday. So buy the grande size coffee that morning. And then you’ll have all weekend to recuperate. 10 pm is too late? Dios mio!! I’m not the young hotness I was ten years ago either, but lets all pull on our big girl panties next week and go meet some real, live boys and girls for a change! Allez!

I have a good idea to make this a non-sasuage fest… maybe I’ll leave some $$ with D/R and we can buy drinks for first ladies to show up… or something like that.

Not that Im looking for loopholes or anything, but must we wear them as, well, intended? Or may I skate by utilizing some slinky garment, say, as a pocket hankerchief?

    Just looking for clarification here.

And can we make it 11:00 am? That way I will be home for Matlock.

Well one outta fifty attempts at humor aint bad, caroline.

But seriously, is this gonna be a party, or an AARP convention? I aint bustin out my finest ladies undergarments if you all will only be checking me out through oversized bifocals. I may as well just hike my pants up to my armpits if thats the case. Any truth to the rumor that the dj will be Lawrence Welk? Ah wunnerful wunnerful…

    /is old too.

Hey! Don’t knock the AARP. They give great benefits. Plus, I prefer Hawaii 5-0 to Matlock. Dan-O is the sh–.

Sooooo, now it’s at 9:30 pm. Excellent! I’ll be there. But I’m scared. I like being anonymous. Am I the only one? Do the rest of you feel completely comfortable giving up your anonymity? I feel like I’ll be giving up my virginity….it’s precious.

And screw all y’alls (hardee har har, pun about southern language) jokes about AARP. UNFAIR!!!!!!!! Without us old folks you kids would be…..ummm, errr, ya know…..uhhhh. Shit. You’d being doing fine. But us AARP’ers will def add some spice to the party. The spice of wisdom. (at least that’s what I tell myself every night before I go to sleep.)
