Sweet, Sweet Mud

My morning Mudhouse visit revealed their decision to make ristretto shots standard for all espresso-based drinks. I applaud the move.

Mudhouse baristas have long advocated for the superior taste of ristretto shots, and I converted about two years ago, taking the suggestion of a FLakes employee. I haven’t looked back since.

For those preferring the traditional espresso shot, just ask for a “long pull.” For the rest, savor the sweetness that is ristretto.

Higher Grounds has been doing ristretto shots as the norm the whole time. I have a coffeeshop in Lynchburg and we pull ristretto shots as well, any coffeegeek knows it much sweeter…and deeelish.

HG = Cafe Cubano. The owner made waffles for the Live Arts Gala at midnight. Also, I hearby praise La Boheme restaurant for giving really superb shrimp, specifically designated to the Live Arts volunteers.

No, HG=Higher Grounds. There are still HG kiosks all over town. Cafe Cubano STILL carries HG coffee.
