Here’s the anti-giant wal-mart see it from space light show. Drive out Garth Road toward Sugar Hollow, just before the turn-off towards Crozet (Brown’s Gap Rd.) someone has erected a giant blue Christmas tree (well 15 feet or so, anyway). Its made of reflectors like the kind you’d attach to your mailbox post, or use to mark your driveway, attached to boards. Its very bright when your headlights hit it, but when you’re gone, so is it (no annoying the neighbors all night) and it doesn’t take a single watt of electricity that your car isn’t spending anyway.
If the person who put it up is reading this, thanks for using a little imagination and some effort on your part to make something simple, meaningful, and responsible.
H-D… look around back. Bet they’ve also got those environmentally friendly wind chimes made out of Hormel’s chili and Spaghetti O’s cans strung up on a set of antlers and stuck through the soffitt. Eco awareness is just so moving when you see it in action in the community. Just be careful that you don’t trip over their recycling bins full of Bud Lite.
