If you get in a wreck and EVERYONE can call the police, don’t.
From the County….
Albemarle County emergency officials are reporting continued hazardous driving conditions throughout the county which have already resulted in a number of traffic accidents – approximately 35 - 40 at this time - since the snow began shortly after 8:00 a.m. At this moment police are actively working 22 accidents in the county. There have been a number of cars off the road and several collisions and overturned vehicles, although all injuries reported so far have been relatively minor.
Due to the large number of calls, police are operating on a modified response status which means that officers are only responding to those accidents that involve injuries or if vehicles are blocking the road. Anyone involved in an accident where there are no injuries and where the vehicle can be removed from the road way are being asked to not wait for police and are being given two days to report the accident to the police. Conditions are hazardous particularly in the southern and western parts of Albemarle where the snow has been falling longest. We will be releasing updates as the day progresses.

At least 50 accidents today would be my guess.
Ouch. Definitely a day when walking to work has its advantages.
unless a car slides into you.
The Daily Progress is mapping as many of the accidents that we can. There is a link on the front page.
There are 4 accidents on your map. I saw 20 in this mornings 3 mile drive. Map faster! Hypermap! I need data!

Too true, caroline. Pedestrian car dodging in snow is no fun.
Shit… we just ran out of bread, milk, snow shovels and water. Just like that.
outta milk and bread here too!
Flooz, in a little while you will be able to see me crash into the guardrail at the end on my street, or slide thru the feild. Fun for the whole family!
Im headed home. Wish me luck.
I’ve already eaten half a bag of chocolate….

I am still at work. Nice and cozy and no annoying co-workers. Yipee!

Caroline, so how do you like my digs?
I could get really comfortable here…
Dang my car handles like a piece of soap in the snow, gave up half way on Stony Point Rd, cop came and told me drive backwards down the road and I looked at him in disbelief, I could get ZERO traction going forwards and was slowly sliding into to the rail, now how did he expect me to backwards and turn around?
I love that you are here, BTB i’d love to talk to you about your “art” proposal sometime
Silmo… ditto on the empty office. I’ve got a great view of the city from my window and the streets are starting to really empty out. I’ll admit that I’m getting eager to get out of here and start the usual snowday celebration festivities.
2o4 = you’re eating girl scouts??? kinky
not now baby, talk later. Now move over
ohh lala darling
By the by, while sitting on Stony Point Rd I saw the salt trucks pass going north, not salting, then an hour later same truck driving south, now salting, (now I am going north of course), that was very in-salting indeed!
Sil, dirty minds think, wait a sec…
At least you weren’t a-salted
I hate puns

I was such a naysayer yesterday about the snow. It’s all my fault, again, blame me for everything.
Actually, I did some driving-around this morning, and I didn’t see any accidents. I checked out the DP– they appear to be on the major roads further outside of town.
Tons of people sledding at the park out at the end of Madison. Aww.
I love drinking when it’s snowing. It just reminds me of college or something. I used to walk in blizzards and a foot of snow to get drunk.
barefoot, no doubt.
ethan, I dunno what’s going on with us….I used to walk in blizzards and a foot of snow to get drunk too. I’m really starting to like you.
Maybe later we can make out like a couple of sluts
