Anyone moderately interested in good movies is missing out if they haven’t checked out the UVA Offscreen film series yet. I didn’t know about it until I saw an ad in the Hook last summer, but it has been around for quite a while.
Every Sunday night at 7 and 9:30, the club opens the doors of Newcomb Theater and (for $3) screens either independent, foreign, or classic films on the big screen. I had never heard of any of the movies, but I thoroughly enjoyed the ones I made it to last semester.
This semester’s schedule just came out and it all began last night. I wholeheartedly endorse checking them out… it’s not like you have anything else going on on Sunday nights.

Just to clarify, it started LAST night. nothing tonight, as far as i know.
Do they have the one about gay cowboys eating puddding on there? Too lazy to check.
I edited it to reflect that, indie. I like Offscreen. I’d go more if I didn’t abhor leaving my house on Sundays. I’ll also be posting Curry’s global education film series. Lots of Sneak Reviewsesque documentaries that are impossible to find.
Actually, Sunday is poker night. But thanks.
Yeah, Im sorry I missed poker night. I really wanted your duckets too! But three gigs in four nights plus day job equals tired Yo. Mas for me didn’t end til 5 am, and Im a geezer. I did want to check out Oy’s swingin’ bachelor pad though… Is it true that there is a circular rotating bed in a mirrored room? Cause I’ve been looking to get some technical advice on that sort of installation…
Dang. Another time I guess.
Have a mirrored kitchen and rotating stove. Now that I think of it, your idea is better…
Does it keep you from having to stir things?
it’s really easy to make crepes
“make crepes”? Is that what the kids are calling these days?
*calling it*
