Phonypony, parking will be an issue, since it’s a Saturday night concert. If you particularly want free parking, it’s going to be in short supply. You might want to come down to the mall early, when it’s more plentiful, as all the parking restrictions wear off. There are a number of 2 hour slots around the mall on which the restrictions wear off at 6 p.m. Park in one of those from 4 p.m. onward and you’re golden. Have a leisurely meal. Check out the used book stores. Before you know it, it’ll be time for the concert.
i second all ThatGrrl said. also, gen admission at the pavilion generally means sitting on the lawn area or standing down on the concrete area in front of the stage. just something to be aware of.
FWIW: I used the suggestion box on johnpauljonesarena.com, and someone actually responded. All they said was “I’ve forwarded your email to” soandso. But maybe someone’s actually listening. I asked them to stop having so many shows for “old white dudes.” Nothing against classic rock…just mix it up with some TV On The Radio or something.
For the record, that is the same day as the Foxfield Races. If you plan to remember this concert, go easy on the mimosas and bourbons.

OOPs. Bad, bad planning!
There are gonna be some welldressed drunk ladies (me) at the concert then. Wheeeee!

i saw her at satellite a few years ago. she was fantastic live, really fun show. i’m marking my calendar for this one right now.
does anyone know if this is general admission or reserved seating?
saw her in Ann Arbor in September. She was fantastic, her voice sounds great live. It was a seated show and people still got up and danced.
highly recommended.
wow this is going to be a long day. it better be gen adm
I’m going, who else is going? Gobbler are you going?
Doubt it. It’ll be a long day after Foxfield. Thanks for asking though.
just got my tickets! any advice for someone who hasn’t been to a show at the pav yet?
Just got mine, as well.

pony: you could also walk to the concert and leave your car at home. Or take the trolley.
You could steal a fire truck, drive it down the mall, and park it in front of city hall. No one ever tows fire trucks.
