Saturday Morning Observations

This morning was FULL of oddities.

1. What on earth was all the running that was going on? I literally saw 50+ runners at various times in the morning on Main Street.

2. Obama lemmings lined up all over the street.

3. Dog walkers were out in full abundance at the same time.

Was there something in the air?

Saturday morning….people are training for the 10 miler this spring.
Also, maybe just gorgeous Charlottesville weather?

oh - and the Obama sweep is for the primary this Tuesday !

The runners were likely training for the Charlottesville 10 Miler. About a kajillion people do the training program which meets Saturday mornings at the UVA track. From there, people head out in groups and end up all over the place. Lots of the training takes place on the 10 miler training course which, of course, goes down Main Street.

That, and it’s just an un-freakin-believeably nice day for a run.

WTF is “fire weather”? Does it have something to do with global warming? Is it like a fire sale? Will I get fired tomorrow? Should I be posting on a site when I’m in a bar, actively drinking? Who brought me here anyways? Did they leave? Will I have to take a cab home? What if I spend all my money and can’t afford a taxi? Should I save more money, so the very possibility of spending ALL my $$ on booze becomes an impossibility? Do you think I wouldn’t try anyways? Where did I put my drink? What is that dissolving in it?….

    …..I did WHAT last night?

as one of the dog-walkers out yesterday it was definitely the weather. to the fire warning — strangely enough while dog-walking around 11:30 or 12 today i did, in fact, see a fire around Market and 10th– firetrucks, water hoses and all.

Saw a Forestry Department truck with a red light flashing yesterday afternoon , hauling a bulldozer, follow a fire Dept. SUV with lights and sirens screaming heading out Barracks Road…….guess they were planning on cutting a fire line somewhere. hmmmm…….must be a sign of fire weather.
