The Walker’s Run show, as usual, was fan-fucking-tastic. I’ve been watching those guys since around 2000 when they used to play in Michael’s Bistro; they rocked then and they rock now.
The line up last night was a bit different than usual. On fiddle was Mary Simpson, subbing in for their regular fiddle player. On guitar was Joe Simpson, subbing in for the regular guitar man. Both Joe and Mary and siblings of the former fiddlist, Ann Marie Simpson who 1) was their old fiddle player and 2) may be on the grammy’s if enough people vote for her today (http://youtube.com/mygrammymoment - her name is “theboggster”).
Definitely catch these folks the next time they are around for some good old fashioned hard driving bango and mandolin bluegrass with amazing vocals.
OXO was tight. Thor, you need to get back together with her. I’m going to say that pound for pound, the crowd at OXO is the most attractive in town.
