Wind Beats Power

Holy smokes, Batman, it’s Windy out there.

I’ve been experiencing power………………………

outages all day. In fact, in the middle of this post I got a power outage. What is going on? Is it the wind or what? Seemed like a lot of restaurants were having problems this morning.

I was sitting at a bar when the power went out. There’s nothing quite like catching a buzz in the dark. Especially when the bartender is buying. ;)

….the power just came on, but he says we’re not done yet. I love cville. Laters!

Great goodabilty. Everything written now will be erased. I feel like Castenada going into the desert to write poetry in the sand…
That literary image copyright by me 2008. In fact, I copyright everything written from now until 6pm, by me and others, and defend such right.

Yes, I was at a bar when I wrote that. I’m going to refrain from divulging which one, for now, as I don’t want to get the bartender into trouble. ;)

There was a big tree down on 29 yesterday right where it widens to 5 lanes….traffic was backed up for a few miles. Park St was closed down. I’ll send along some pics later. Needless to say, my commute from dodgeball to kickball took way too long.

I flew back to cville last night and it was definitely my scariest plane ride to date. Before we took off, the captain comes on the PA and says “You know how we always tell you to fasten your seat belts and tighten them - we’re not kidding today.” I never thought I would die or anything, but there was definitely over ten times where the seatbelt was the only thing keeping me in my seat vs hitting my head on the ceiling. I’m quite happy that I should be Earth-bound until at least May.

Tim, I was helping to move that tree on 29. I bet traffic was backed up for more than 30 minutes.

Actually, in case anyone cares, there were several other people that had stopped to help besides me, before the cop and fire fighters showed up. We were breaking branches, and hooking up a winch. Then the fire fighters showed up and chain sawed the base of the tree. One of the civilians (cvillain status unconfirmed) then dragged the tree to the side of the road. Good civic duty. Afterwords I think everyone went to Mellow Mushroom and enjoyed a well-deserved BUD LIGHT!

Yeah, I got stuck in that too, tree was still blocking 1 lane when I got there. How dare nature interfere with my ability to get to Mellow. >:\
