Silly Songs for Valentine’s Day

I can’t really explain these videos. We’ve got some depressing ones, negative ones, happy ones, cheesy ones, smelly ones, ugly ones, hated ones, and hearty ones. If you are alone, you will be happy. If you have a date, you will get depressed.

Let’s say there is a little “what is love” mixed with Eurotrash with a hint of spice.

Alex Gaudino feat. Crystal Waters – Destination Calabria

Haddaway – What is Love

Joy Division – Love Will Tear Us Apart

Daniel Powter – Bad Day

Chicago – You’re the Inspiration (cheesy award)

Ask Caroline, she had the best Christmas song (Pogues, Kirsty MacColl – Fairytale of New York).

My vote goes for this one, the music starts about 1 minute in:

Happy greeting card and flowers day!

In Ancient Rome, February 15 was Lupercalia, an archaic rite connected to fertility, without overtones of romance. Plutarch wrote:
Lupercalia, of which many write that it was anciently celebrated by shepherds, and has also some connection with the Arcadian Lycaea. At this time many of the noble youths and of the magistrates run up and down through the city naked, for sport and laughter striking those they meet with shaggy thongs.

Striking people with shaggy thongs- now that’s a holiday !
