Harvard Website Hacked

Scary. Harvard’s graduate school of arts and sciences website got hacked.  You can find the location of the supposed hacked backup of the site on this torrent.

I’m not sure if there is any personal data there or not, but it’s scary to think something like this could happen close to home.  UVA does use secure passwords, right?

Last year, UVA got hacked. These people had access to 5,735 faculty members names, ssn, and date-of-birth.

UVA got hacked from 2005 through 2007. I am one of those whose information was in the database. UVA is paying for a one year subscription to one of those credit monitoring services. So far everything remains clean. Of course, I’ll probably have to pay for another year of the service, just to be safe. Ugh.
