Charity is great, but am I missing some high level of socioeconomic commentary here. How do you have an Irish pub crawl without anything Irish, or anything that resembles an Irish pub. As far as I know, we have 1 Irish bar downtown, but we also have some “pubby” atmospheres. Did McGrady’s and Millers decline your offers to contribute to charity? I have nothing against the bars on your list, I just think certain holidays are fun for specific reasons.

I’m going to organize a bar crawl for Cinco de Mayo. I’m thinking Fleurie, the Downtown Grill, and Blue Light.

  28. 27 Feb 2008 at 10:50 amThor said:

Andy, we have a lot of people (100+) and Miller’s was too small during the winter! Oh and pub crawls with driving in-between is a bad idea.

You have never gotten drunk on St.Patrick’s Day?!!!! It is my favorite day of the year (tops Christmas, BDays, and New Year’s). I think if you do not drink this year I will cry for you. You should join in these festivities or at least make your own. If nothing else I will get you drunk.

It is should be illegal to be sober on St. Patrick’s Day.

Ireland’s Own is indeed a great place. I spent my first Irish-Bar-St Paddy’s Day at Pat Troy’s (Home of the Unicorn) in Old Town, which was a BLAST. Mrs. Nut is probably going to be against a pub crawl, no matter the location, what with her being on the verge of popping out the PeaNut in the next few weeks. Probably end up watching the Sebring 12 Hours and the F1 season opener from the hotel room or folks place. I’ll be sure to be sippin’ on the Guiness, however.
