Don’t forget about the big feet part

The Florida Marlins are recruiting men for its new cheer squad, the “Manatees.” [NBC4] For the auditions, applicants were recommended to have “big bellies with big jiggles and big feet with the best dance moves.”

I love this. None of that “big-boned” or “curvalicious” BS. Big bellies. Yeah. And big feet, too, so they’ll have big, jiggly… toes.

that’s basically what the regular marlins cheerleaders (“mermaids”) looked like anyways, but with hooker boots & a lot of makeup.

Ha! Poor thing. I think I adopted a manatee or a whale or something when I was little. I got a picture of it in the mail and everything. I received a note from it recently asking to be returned to its birth mother. Since I can’t remember what kind of animal it was, I can see how it would find me to be a negligent adoption parent.

i did that too, lilith! i adopted whale for a while. a believe it’s name was “cats paw” or something slightly odd like that because of a marking on it’s tail. and they would send me pictures of it’s tail periodically. i don’t remember when i started being delinquent, but mine soon decided i wasn’t being supportive enough as well.

i remember a lot of hullaballoo about manatees being hurt by speedboats, and how we should outlaw modern technology to save them, or some other such tree-huggery. i guess if you have time to worry about stuff like that then that’s nice for you, but the rest of us are trying to figure out how a marshmellow and an elephant manged to create such an adorable lovechild, and how we can employ this spawn to generate cold, hard revenue.

they get hurt and killed a lot by speedboats. they can cause some really gruesome injuries. it’s actually a federal law in florida that you can’t harm a manatee because their population is dwindling so much. very sad.

i once dated a girl whose world view was such that if i pointed out something she had said that was wrong or hurtful, then the shame or remorse she felt was not her fault, but actually mine, for turning the mirror around and causing her to feel guilt. it was the ultimate in transference, and quite simply, it was just plain old fashioned crazy.

so then, with that in mind, i re-read 10-12. my point is that you guys are bad for making me feel bad.

Oh, B’Yo. Eww. Big man-titty not good for my brain.

I think I planted a tree in some forest somewhere, when I was a kid. There was a certificate involved for that, too. I’m sure the Bush administration made sure that it was sold to some logger and used for printing The National Review, or something.
