Veggies are much better than wedgies, I always say.

tomato.jpgAhhhh, Friday morning. It’s a beautiful morning, and if I’m not mistaken, we’ve been promised temperatures in the 70s today. As the weather starts to warm up, I begin to compulsively day dream about being anywhere but inside despite the ball and chain that has me locked to my desk, and though a little uninspired, that dream brings me most often to my lunch hour. Having worked on the mall for many years now, lunch can kind of become a Ron Burgundy (that’s a Big Deal for those of you that aren’t keeping up) because on the one hand you’ve got all these great places to frequent, and on the other hand, frequent becomes the highly operative word in that sentence.

Given that, it’s very exciting to learn from the Hook [link included below] that the owners of Marco and Luca are returning back to their original spot on 2nd st next to Oh Suzannah! on March 31 to open a new lunch spot called, Nicholai’s Veggies. Sandwiches! Salads! A potential for Juice! Hey, it’s not much, but it is an option, and that’s what counts.

So, what do you think? Will another walk-up window food spot make it?

so, i don’t get it… are they moving out of york and re-starting? or is this a new separate enterprise?

and will they have a late-night dance party?

oh. i just read the article.

the late-night dance party will have to be in the street in front of fellini’s, presumably somewhere underneath the bubble machine, or perhaps in the sketchy apartment/nightclub upstairs. which, btw, wtf.

My lunch always consists of steak, waffles, french fries, and of course Scotch. Ron Burgundy wouldn’t have it any other way.

Is it just me or does that place SMELL LIKE SOMEONE FARTED RIGHT NEXT TO THE DOOR AT ALL TIMES? I’ve never eaten there, and I won’t because A: it smells like farts, B: I can smell the fart smell even when I’m in cafe cubano, & C: because I can smell the fart smell even when I’m down the hall at Miyako. That place stinks! I’ve heard that their food is good, but yet I’ve also heard the food dubbed “STINKY ASS BALLS.” I wouldn’t eat stinky ass balls.

    stinky ass balls

So are these the balls from a stinky ass, or are they ass balls that happen to be stinky? I think the distinction is important.
