Well, I know that we are all going to pray for the continuation of this weather, but here are the events which I think are pretty sweet and unique.
Wine tastings @ Market Street, Crush and Beer Run.
Starting at 8PM on Friday, dance party at OURSPACE (414 e. main st. beneath the twisted branch tea bazaar) with oodles of DJs…. DJ’s John Midyette, Bristol, Boyd 80, Loki, and DJ Red Lab. Visuals by Colourboy.
If things get rainy, you can see the 7th Annual Ballroom Dance Spring Showcase at 8PM Tonight. Tickets are $7. Hopefully they can think of a shorter name in the future.
Oh ya, see OK GO at the UVA’s Spring Fest on Saturday. Remember it’s FREE! [more info]

…and if you’re at the Ourspace thing and feel like party-hopping without leaving the building, there’s an 80s/50s dance party going on at the Tea Bazaar. Attendance is virtually mandated by how kickawesome the flyer is.

I will be playing the space carnival in the back closet at escafe tonight. Stop on by, but make sure you stay on the bar side so I can’t see you. And whatever you do, don’t dance, just pose and be pretty (to techno). I will start off experimental, trying to share some newly discovered stuff that I feel to be good, but eventually I will get desperate and cave and revert to the all britney meltdown thumpfest (the new j.t. / madge creation is out. what.), which still won’t bring you to my side of the snatch… anyway. My feelings of failure will gradually morph into abstract wrath and by 12:50 I will be playing NIN remixes and pumping my impotent balled up fists of rage through empty space toward my demented and sadistic creator. I will wrap it up with nihilism on the decks and sarcasm in the microphone. I will pack in a huff, apologize to the bartender for sucking and ask him if the management left a check for me, which they will have forgotten. Again. I will go home listening to news of genocide on BBC radio, masturbate to dinosaur porn, and then post borderline personality epics on some public forum, which I will regret profoundly in the morning when I have to get up and do my taxes.
It’s a must not miss! Seriously! Good Times! Ah the glamorous life I lead… tee hee hee…
