VA News: 3 Tornadoes through VA - Governor Declares State of Emergency

Three tornadoes went through VA today. Our Governor, Timothy M. Kaine, has declared a state of emergency for the areas in southeast VA that were hit. About 218 injuries have been reported thus far and 9,000 people are without power tonight. This is just no good. To read more please see the story released by the AP below.
(We were lucky to just get stuck with rain and gloomy clouds.)

    Doing some splishy-splashy research over on the E. shore and a tornado touched down as it touched the east coast of the Chesapeake. Some serious serious rain and wind here. Looks like the tornado
    just barely missed us.

    darn. now i wish i had taken photos of the really beautiful clouds i saw tonight from west main (the street, not the restaurant). weather gets my goat right up there with food, music and the planet. and smart funny things. but i am sorry to hear people were hurt, things got twisted and well, the clouds were really awe inspiring and i enjoyed them greatly. good sky there, by the rail-station.

    @7: Someone else mentioned that to me yesterday. They said it also was causing all the rain we have gotten recently. Pretty ridiculous.
