Your government at work, lame.
If you mean the inaction of the government when it comes to dedicating resources to non-petroleum-based fuel sources, I’m on board with this statement.
If you mean it’s lame for the postal service to pass along to the end user the rising cost of driving and flying our mail around the country, I’m directing your attention to a li’l ol’ internet article about user fees.
If they were smart they’d just make it an even $.50 and put the extra 8 cents into something that generated enough of a return, that, coupled with the money they’d save not having to get the word out every couple of years about postal-rate hikes and they would never have to raise rates again (or not for a really long time at least)
They’re called “forever” stamps, but you can’t get them in rolls, which is annoying to me personally. Only in strips. I got a bunch a few months ago, glad I did, having to put 2 stamps on is a pet peeve. I wonder how much they raised the rates on periodicals this time. The last rate hike put some of the smaller periodicals at risk of having to go online or shut down. How about capping Oil company profits so they don’t have an incentive to keep prices this high?
Just FYI, the RSS for this entry had spamvertisements in it. I assume this is unintentional.
Josh, thanks for the warning. We deleted it. I hate spammers!!
pretty soon it’ll be less expensive to call from a payphone than to mail a letter. take that antiquated technologies.
Help stamp out stamps!
You only get the forever stamps at the post office, right? If so, this warning came a little late since the post office wasn’t open yesterday.
I agree that it is irritating that you can only get the forever stamps in sheets. I bought two hundred last month and hopefully I won’t lose any of my sheets of gold before I use them up.
You get a lot of service for 42 cents. Really — it’s the best bargain going.
