Official Space Party 2008 Details

Space Party 2008

Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s here! We have all the details for Space Party 2008. Before we begin, we would like to thank everyone who is involved. Thanks to X-Lounge for hosting the event and doing “special things.” Thanks to Charlottesville Sports and Social Club and 106.1 The Corner for being our media partners. Thanks to Music Today for managing our ticket sales. Thanks to Belmont Yo for doing an amazing job with the artwork! And, thank you to all of you loyal readers and voters for getting excited about giving all of our proceeds to your charity of choice. Without your support we couldn’t do this.

This time around, the details are sweeter, we have T-Shirts and will have more fun. Details after the break…

The Party is Hosted at X-Lounge which is in the Glass Building. Here is a map.

Doors open at 7:30 PM on Sunday, May 25th, 2008. This is the Sunday before Memorial day, so you probably won’t have to work. This means that you have no excuse to not come to the party.

Tickets cost $15 online and $20 at the door. All proceeds from the party will be given to charity. You can buy them here. Online ticket sales end on Friday, May 23rd at 5PM.

The first 100 to show up will get amazingly awesome T-Shirts with special artwork from Belmont Yo. Buying online will guarantee a t-shirt! You have to show up to get your T-Shirt!

Dressing up in Space themed clothing is recommend, but optional! We highly recommend it and will be giving awards to the best costumes. We will be selling Alien bling at the door to help you out if you don’t have time to get a costume yourself.

As you may know, we have an online vote which will decide the charity that gets all the proceeds from the party. If you get to the party before 9:40PM, you can vote again. Importantly your vote will count 25 times the online votes, so if you are part of one of the charities, you need to send some representatives to win! We will announce the winning charity at 10PM at the party.

X-Lounge will have small food items and out of this world drinks. There is something “special” in the works, if you catch my drift.

What are you waiting for!?

Head on over to Music Today to buy your tickets! See you at Space Party 2008!

Is it too late to add Burmese Cyclone Victims (who are apparently about to get hit by another cyclone) to the list of potential charities?

I was really stuck for a good alien shot for those ads, so I took the most logical route. I cut “greeting circles” in my lawn, and then sat back on the porch that night with my handicam. Its really not rocket science. That particular benevolent grey was named “steve”. Nice guy.

/is really my lawn, 2D topiaries are a hobby of mine.

Maybe if you get the X-loung bartenders to paint their faces all gaytarded like they did on New Year’s Eve then you’ll get a great turn out.
