You don’t have to drive to DC this weekend to catch Bob Mould and Richard Morel’s night of club music madness. BLOWOFF is one of the biggest gay dance parties going in DC (and growing in NY) and it’s here in C-Ville this weekend (Friday night at R2). It’s at 9:30 Club on Saturday. Expect house remixes, dance rock, and everything including the kitchen sink. If you want a lot of shirtless beefcake, though, I’m guessing you might have.

I have been to one at the 9:30 club a couple months ago. Fun, positive and well attended event. Reminded me of home in a way. I hope that c-ville has enough of a crowd to support this kind of gig, because it could be lots and lots of fun.
And for those that think the name Bob Mould sounds familiar, he was in the early eighties punk rock group Husker Dü. I played my “Landspeed Record” tape til it wore out. I have always had a special affinity for him as he sowed his musical seeds in early eighties hardcore and now plays fabulous gay anthems!

Bob Mould actually played an amazing (yet poorly attended) solo show at the Gravity Lounge last fall. I was afraid it would dissuade him from ever coming back to town.
I fitna be blowin it off June 20, just booked it. I know the ads have been out a while… long story. My fault. I have never been much in the organizational planning department.
