Hello Restaurant Owners,
We have received a warning from fellow restaurant operators that there is a scam artist going around Charlottesville trying to extort money from restaurant owners.
His operation is simple: he shows up at a restaurant and claims that he found something in his food, got sick or was harmed by food poisoning. He tells a story about the product, cost and time and asks for money. He is lying.
To our knowledge, he’s hit Shebeen, Revolution Soup (both locations), Cafe Cubano, Bizou, Escafe and Christain’s. If anyone can confirm these locations, that would be great.
He was described as a 35 to 45 tall skinny African-American wearing rose colored glasses. He also rides a bike around.
Let us know if you snap a pictures! Tell him you are doing it, so you can tell your waitstaff to treat him extra-special next time he comes in. Let us know if you have more details.

Yeah both Christian’s were hit for sure (Corner and Downtown). He called us again this morning and I asked him to come in (I already knew the scam and was trying to bust him). Alas…he never showed…he sucks.
I hope he’s not aware of our lil’ e-community. I’ll keep an extra eye out. I need to pick up a cheap cam.

Speaking of scary, my friend Reann (pronouced Ree-anne) has been missing for a few days and her mom is scared shitless.She’s in her mid-late 20’s, is about 5′6″-5′8″, has dyed red hair, has a round face and was last seen a few days ago with an older man of a creepy redneck flavor.(not that all rednecks are creepy, but forget that for now) She worked at Miller’s a few months ago. I will post a link to her pic as soon as I find one. I wish I had more information but I am working with limited resources for the moment.
fuck. i have been scouring myspace for any pic of her, but still nothing. The police have been searching for her, but there’s still NOTHING about her disappearance in any of our local web sites. Yo! Daily Progress! 29 News! Get on it! We need all the help we can get.

The police already knew about it. They spent hours asking everyone questions, flyers were made, and guess what…. It turned out to be a fucking hoax. She went camping and didn’t tell anyone. I apologize for making anyone worry.
