For those COOL people NOT leaving town: The Weekend Preview

Let’s talk about the most important thing you will do this weekend. THE CVILLAIN SPACE PARTY!

As a pleasant reminder, the party is on SUNDAY and STARTS at 7:30 p.m at X-LOUNGE. You can buy tickets ONLINE and save $5.00.

We have plenty of room for you, your friends, and your visiting relatives (we promise to play nice with Grandma). X-Lounge has drinks and food (don’t forget that the MAC and CHEESE with crack will subdue any crazy younger siblings). More importantly, X-Lounge has some specials in the works for us. All cool cvillains will be in attendance (aka you are cool if you come). Also, money raised will go to the charity of your choice — be there so you can VOTE. If you buy tickets online you will get a t-shirt and the first 100 tickets sold at the door will also get a t-shirt (designed by the coolest of cvillains, Belmont yo). We will also be selling some alien accessories for those of you that forget this is a SPACE party (or you are like me and just too damn busy to shop for googlely eyes). Basically you have no legitimate excuse to miss this party.

As for the rest of your weekend…

We are putting this up a little early for those of you who managed to con your way out of a four day weekend (by the way I would really like some lessons from anyone that accomplished this). This seems to be the weekend of wine tasting! In all that is offered this weekend you will not go thirsty.

Delfosse Vineyards and Winery-Memorial Weekend BBQ. Saturday, May 24th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. $20.00 Wine and BBQ. Need I say more?

Mountain Cove Vineyard-29th Annual Fiesta de Primavera. This would be yet another wine and BBQ event. Saturday and Sunday, May 24th and 25th 11:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m.

Oakencroft Vineyard and Winery-25th Anniversary Celebration. Food provided by BBQ Brothers and Music by Jimmy O. $15.00/includes glass. 11 am to 5 pm. Monday, May 26, 2008 (Thanks Orchid!)

MEMORIAL DAY CELEBRATION at Wintergreen Resort. Food, Wine, Fun, and more. This is an entire weekend shebang - they have it all - even church.

VallyFest2008-Massanutten Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce party. Saturday, May 24th
“Sample the best of area wines, beers and microbrews!”

Ghost Tours. This begins in the mall and works through the “scariest” parts of town. I believe it begins at 8:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday nights. To get your fearful fill call 760-0525 for details.

Fridays after Five-Grove Train this week…shake your grove thing, shake your grove thing, yeah, yay!

Hamner Theater presents-A Shadow of Honor. Check it out and let us know what you think. Wednesday to Saturday 7:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Sunday. (They have a dinner theater once a month–not this one–sorry about the informational error guys)

East Coast Swing by Terry Dean’s Dance Studio. Newbie Cha-Cha lessons with a dance party to follow. Starts @ 7:30 p.m.

Lastly, this weekend sadly brings an end to Satellite Ballroom. Check out their site and MUSE for details on the end fest they have planned. Be SURE to check out MUSE for all your other music/arts weekend events!

I may have forgotten somethings or just don’t happen to be “in the know”. Tells us what we left out. See you on Sunday!!!

Hey, does anybody know if there’s a way to buy tickets in advance without creating an account? Can I pick them up at X-Lounge? Is there another location? A website where I can just provide some payment (this technology exists — really)?

I am sure Thor knows the answer Brutus and if nothing else I can guarantee D/R knows. Thor has probably gone nighty, nighty, but the answer should be posted first thing tomorrow. Check back with us or email spicybear by going to the “contact us” page.

Are we seriously struggling for attendees? Grandmas were at X-Lounge a couple weeks ago and it was weird. For real, though, I’ll be there, but I’ll be sad if it’s just me, doof, and a cavernous x-lounge.

Can we no longer buy tickets online? Or am I an idiot and missed something here where there is a deadline. Musictoday tells me “Tickets are no longer available through this online outlet. Please contact the box office or promoter for other available ticket outlets.” I already started making my tinfoil hat.
