What is it with UVa sports players and running into Johnny law? The current QB, Peter Lalich, is reportedly just tying up his court nonsense for unlawfully purchasing and possessing alcohol. According to his Facebook profile he is part of the Class of 2011. Doesn’t that make him crazy young to get caught doing this nonsense? He should spend less time reading the playbook and more time figuring out how the rest of the Class of 2011 gets their drink on…he obviously missed that workshop during orientation

Starting QB at a D-I school + breaking laws = retarded.
Why jeopardize your opportunity?
This is one of the many reason I think American drinking laws are crazy. Most of the world is 18 (muslim country excepted) for drinking albeit with tougher DWI laws. It’s like the 55 speed limit on highways, it’s was always broken. Getting beer in college for someone under 21 is only slightly easier than getting dope and dope has been totally illegal for decades.
With the advent of the current DWI laws lower the age to 18 wouldn’t be much of a difference that it might have been years ago. But if anyone were to try to lower the limit the moms of MADD would surround the Capital with minivans and SUV’s in protest.
Lalich might still have some brain cells left if he didn’t get sacked almost every play. His rushing yardage last season was -47 and he only played in 7 games and usually he only played for a small part of those games. Overrated…
Raise your hand if you’ve never had a beer before you were 21.
Bueller?
Even the state seems to know that this isn’t a big deal. The charge goes away if he doesn’t do anything else stupid for a year.
As long as he doesn’t go all Marcus Vick on us and start picking up girls from CHS, then I will forgive a little boozin. Question: Does anyone know what happened for him to get arrested? My guess is that involved the Biltmore.
Wasn’t Marcus just helping out the SPCA?
\waits for it
Stupid jocks
Wrong Vick Thor.

@9: I disagree.
I hope he get things together. Many of us been there in undergrad. It’s part of growing up. Yeah, he needs to be a little bit more creative in the attaining alcohol process.
@11: I agree! Comity! Wow. That was the quickest resolution of conflict ever.
this is sports. no sports. evar.
@13: I think we can probably make exceptions to that rule for sports stories involving (a) alcohol, (b) U.Va. athletes (allegedly!) embarrassing themselves, or (c) a combination of (a) and (b), as we have here. I submit my rule for the approval of the Midnight Society.
