Whole Foods Plan Approved

whole foods charlottesville

Whole Foods Market plan to move to the corner of Hydraulic Road and Hillsdale Drive has been approved by the Charlottesville Planning Commission.  The new store, along with a three story parking garage, will be built next to the K-Mart.  There was some debate over traffic congestion and apparently they resolved these issues.

Now, we only have to wait another year to save 10 minutes of driving to get our overpriced non-organic, non-local food!

is that a flickr photo? you couldn’t have created a 3-d computer rendering overlaid on a real-time webcam broadcasting from the planned site? you’re a slacker, mcfly.

Does Hillsdale come through to Hydraulic? Or is that part of the extension. And is it really 10 mins?

It IS a 3d rendering.. you can see it correctly if you dig up the right mushroom goods from the pavilion dirt.

Oh and I like all the trees at the Northern border of the WFM… Wouldn’t want anyone to see the Kmart on the other side of them.

    Tom -

    Regarding Hillsdale -

In seeking approval for the project, which would bring a 66,600-square-foot store and three-level parking garage to Hydraulic Road, developers have agreed to construct the first section of Hillsdale Drive. But according to the property owner, the developers don’t yet have the right of way for that section of the road.

    From the DP.

I’m holding out for a new hole-foods outlet. Preferably a Dunkin’ Donuts. Their coffee is delicious, though probably made by slave ferrets or something. Still! Yum.

    So K-Mart + Gold’s Gym + Whole Foods necessitates a 3-story garage?

    Really?

17: Well, the Whole Foods workers, lacking adequate union protections, are required to live in the basement of the Whole Foods, chained to the organic arugula (it’s right there, just past the eye of newt, no, no, not the jasmine tapioca, the eye of newt goddammit, yes, there you go). But they still need to have cars, I mean, this is America; there are basic freedoms. Except, there’s a rub: they can’t afford gas, so they need parking spots and lots of ‘em.

Anyhow, that’s what’s up. I’m going to run away from echo now.
