We were coming back from lunch and there was a big stench of leaked gas. Someone must have called the police. Now there are a bunch of firetrucks and official looking people blocking the Ridge/250 W intersection. Anyone have more deets? Can the TV station get out here!?

Maybe if you gave them better directions. Ridge doesn’t intersect 250. does it?
I think Scowly meant Ridge/Main/250
Try Ridge/ McIntire. It intersects 250 by the skate park.
thanks, you guys now, i’m really confused.
i’ll check it out on my way to bodo’s. which means that by the time i get back it’ll probably be gone.
wait, i thought ridge intersected 64/main/hydraulic/parkstreet
@6: WTF are you talkng about
googlemaps says it’s ridge south of west main, ridge mcintire between west main and preston, and mcintire north of preston.
still agree with #3, though.
@7… oh sorry I meant intersection of 29N, Monticello and 240.
It seems that none of us know the city we live in. I assume wherever you are talking about is not on the mall, so it doesn’t actually exist.
When in doubt, just say “Carlton”. It’s the Shiflett of Charlottesville roads.
it’s pronounced RYE-OH.
because… i don’t know.
@ 10 To be fair, its as if it was created to be deliberately obtuse. For instance, I used to live near White Hall and work at the end of East Market. I would travel to work and hit five different roads, yet make no turns.
it’s pronounced RYE-OH.
because… i don’t know.
I’ve always heard it’s because it was Route 10, abbreviated R10, which, to the gringo monoglot eye, looks like RYE-oh.
@14: And people who don’t listen to Duran Duran.
@15: Ha. Shenanners wins the internet for today.
so, i got nothing. i, uh, forgot i wouldn’t be going that far (was coming from mcintire) and saw nothing but a bunch of gas trucks from the city headed towards west main.
I’ll check the Hook news blog….they might know!
