While I’m hesitant to make this the forum of lost pets, we did have some success last time getting a photo out early and often, so it’s worth a shot. Veteran commenter indie dork writes in:
Found cat. No tags. Very soft friendly, but hungry (really likes turkey). Downtown near McGuffey Park. It will stay with us tonight, then go to the SPCA tomorrow. If you think it’s yours, email me (cvilleindiedork@gmail.com) and you can claim him? her? sometime Thursday. Despite how it looks in the pics, it isnt mangey, just weird colors.
Let’s give it a shot, folks. More shots after the break.

i might regret this, but rather than the spca, i can kitten sit for a bit until Someone Awesome takes the kitten.
Someone needs to get the kitten by saturday. will sit and play until then.
At least bring it by the SPCA to have it checked for a microchip… those things don’t work if nobody ever scans for them.
yup. get it checked for a chip. also bear in mind that some folks let their cats out w/o a collar. or at least they put one on them, but the little buggers tend to lose them (i gave up after 3).
Oh yeah, the chip thing. Do the chip thing! It’s magic, and I hear the SPCA (sometimes) doesn’t bother with cats, so ask for it specifically. Chip thing is more common with dogs, but my last cat had the chip thing.
If you can’t make it to the SPCA, you can just go by a local Vet and they can scan it for you.
@4: No, they check cats too.
@6: really? That’s great. Last time I was there looking for a missing cat (a good while ago), they said that cats…sometimes they forget because it’s just uncommon compared with dogs. But I bet your info’s more current, and definitely good news.
Has this cat been claimed? It certainly looks like my former neighbor’s.
That is a friggin familiar-looking cat.
I recently lost my precious cat named Itty Bitty —- she is a blue/grey (looks like a Karat, lovely smile and all!) I have made several trips responding to thoughtful people who thought they had her. I made another hopeful journey today, only to be disappointed. She is 3 years old and normally an indoor cat. We had just moved and her (quick release collar) had not been updated. She is missing since Sept 9 of 08. I have a chip in my dog but nothing was ever mentioned about putting it my cat. I really regret not having figured that out for myself!
Loved pets deserve a micro chip. It could save many hearts from breaking - not knowing is worse than death. FYI: contrary to common belief the animal does not have to be sedated to be chipped. My young puppy did not even flinch during the procedure. Just wanted to share that little tid bit in memory of my Itty Bitty.
