Virginia Lovers

Virginia Tourism will be at Charlottesville’s The Paramount Theater on Thursday, August 21 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM to meet Charlottesville businesses that benefit from tourism. Their intended goal is to “drive business to every restaurant, retail shop, lodging, event and attraction that is visitor-friendly.”  They are in town to do one on one meetings with you.

    i didn’t see it before, myself.

    but i can’t not comment.
    it’s always been one of my favorite stories since moving here.

    (stop reading if youdon’t like me. at this point i don’t give a backup planets ass).

    so i’d just moved to charlottesville. for whatever reason.?.?.
    from san jose. sitting outside miller’s with someone and a new person i felt kinderd to (jury still out), but also from the SF bay area…

    i was also new to the general culture but eager.
    we discussed whatever, but i clearly recall our move to ?here? and i said “well, virginia is for lovers!” and the two of them said, almost in unison-”but you can’t go down.”
    and my response was “what?1 you can’tgo to south carolina, why?”
    \\yeah, my face turned red - but i never had lived in a red state before. i like to recognize my 30 year old innocense red about where.(btw- got it).
