Basic Cycles ?donde vamos?

Does anyone know the scoop on Basic Cycles, formerly on 10th St.?  The space is being remodeled which (fingers and spokes crossed) I am hoping means that Basic is returning new and improved.

I doubt Basic is returning to that spot. Did they really need to redo the place; it achieved it’s goals of being a hipster bike place and redoing it would kill that, no?

oooo, yeah! hipsters can shop at remodeled bike shops, Thor. What you want is non-jock employees selling bikes for non-jock purposes. no triathletes welcome.

I thought this was a post about where I could buy a great basic bicycle and got really excited.

I heard awhile ago that Todd was getting out of the business. No idea what’s going in there, though.

/post title probably should say, “¿A dónde vamos?”

(Hey admin people: is there a comment delay going on? I see mc’s #5 in this thread but not on the main page’s “Recent Comments” section.)

@6: yeah, dude, we’ve mentioned it. they don’t care. just like they don’t care about the archives. New face of evil: ignoring the needs of lonely bloggers who just wanna see if anyone laughed at their jokes.

My poor lonely bloggers, I have a dream.

I say to you today, my Villains, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the cVillain dream.

I have a dream that one day this blog will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all Villains are created equal.”

I have a dream that one day on the asphalt hills of Belmont the sons of former new media and the sons of former old media will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the blog of cVillain, a blog sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my hundreds of little Villains will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their snark.

I have a dream today. And I will begin by fixing the archives and trying to figure out the delay of most recent comments.

And just when I thought that speech couldn’t be bastardized any further. Isn’t it bad enough that it’s used to sell cell phones and crap like that?

It was meant to be pungent and harmonious.

@11: Epic fail, Thor IV. I bet Thorπ could’ve done it, though, so, uh, keep at it, big guy.
