Mall Blackout Today?

Thanks to Outskirts Guy, we’ve been notified that the power on the downtown mall and possibly the Belmont area went out this morning and is still out.  Let us know where you’ve seen the blackout.

Picture is from Tom Daly and a post from last year.

The Omni has no issues… I went to the Mudhouse this morning, and they had power. Java Java apparently has power, too… who exactly _doesn’t_ have power?

Blackout started at 10 am. Definitely affecting both sides of the mall at least down by the post office. Blue Ridge Store is open and does have food, but bring cash. They closed up the salad bar but have soup and whatever is in the refrigerator cases. They had called the power company and heard it will be at least 5 p.m. before power is back.

Downtown it’s out at least between 4th and 7th streets as of noon, and I heard Guadalajara and the Parking Garage were out too. All the store owners are milling around outside looking confused. But the west half of the mall is still in business!

It must be affecting Spicy Bear– all the recent comments aren’t showing up on the front page.
All of us downtown, let’s go looting!

York Place has power. Just called over there. So it looks as if it’s more confined to the eastern side of the mall.

Looks like power is back. The intersections have power again through that area. They were out earlier

Trie to hit Pad Thai for lunch but they weren’t serving. Playing chicken with other drivers through all the intersections without traffic lights was an added bonus.
