6:01 a.m. Stay out all night tonight and stagger into your voting location with all of the fresh-faced poll workers, reeking of booze and with 7-11 chili/cheese sauce smeared all over your shirt front. Works for me every time.
obviously this is going to be dependent upon where you’re voting (i doubt the Stanardsville VFD station will be crowded first thing, during the day or when i get off work), earliest is probably best regardless.
I’ve always voted after work (~630 i guess) and I’ve never had to wait in lines. I’m going to be in a new precinct this time, though, so I’m a little curious how it’ll work out.
virginia’s being sued this year because we’re supposedly going to run out of paper ballots and/or not have enough voting machines. the two districts I’ve voted in are always really crowded after work, and empty around 2pm in the afternoon.
At 6:00am at Clark School, the line to vote extended out the building, all the way down the driveway and around the corner into the street, but it was moving quickly and I only waited about 45 minutes.
I started standing in line at the Downtown Rec Center at 7:10 am and voted and left the building 27 minutes and 53 seconds later. The registrar and all the election officials did an excellent job.
Stanardsville VFD: very long line that winds inside the building and wraps around outside, reports of waiting an hour at 6:00AM, i have the right first last letter and went right to the front. in and out in 10 minutes, but others weren’t so lucky.
Also it surprised me at Clark that a lot more people were using the machines. There were about 8-10 people waiting for the voting machines, but no line and lots of empty spaces at the desks for the paper ballots.
At noon Ruckersville FD 1 Hour wait for Letters N-Z, 10 min Wait for I-M, 30 min wait for A-H. Many females were complaining about not keeping their maiden names. This was my longest wait ever at this polling station in 10 years.
Ran into Sheriff Hawes who said Standardsville and Dyke had been very busy but were dying down @ 12:30.
As always Ruckersville Voting officials friendly and efficient even with high turnout.
The code prevents my dear, but certainly I would warrant that I’ve seen your pleasant visage many times and am but a wander myself from Pantops center.
@52
Orchid my lovely lovely, perchance next time our tender paths cross may I introduce myself instead of just following you home from a tactful distance, watching you walk into the safety of ‘The Hill’? i mean you no foul and indeed have nearly called your name a thousand times before the red brick walls enveloped you.leaving me but a foolish lonely sight, with just hummus and flatbread at Sticks to console my writhing soul.
@56@55 as always the exposure of a human soul is a catalyst for outcry from both of my favorite,funny yet hard hearted friends.perhaps less acid, lest you both appear like Harpies, pecking and feasting on the eyes of the old and enfeebled?
@69
Many thanks dear friend, but I have all of them already apart from the cell phone and i imagine such a golden haired beauty would not answer her phone if the number was unbeknownst so i must keep my hard earned scheckels for yet another lonely night amidst the happy crowds.

/democracy, smell it.
Im going around 10 am. Not everyone can leave during work so it will be less crowded. Still more crowded than previous years’ busiest time though.

/vote early, vote often!
I think I’ll go after work. 8 in the morning is probably gonna be a pre-work commute clusterfuck.

@7…. how the hell did SHE get the right to vote. Bet her corgis crap all over the floor in the polling booth.
/where’s Rugby?
you don’t want to vote after work at Rec. this time. go early in the morning. there will be a line but you can be late to work.
Excuse me?
Charlottesville Daily Progress endorses: McCain, Gilmore & Goode???????
Floozy, Would you consider fixing me up with your friend “The Queen?”
Rugby,I asked her… she said bugger off. Sorry
Come on, Floozy, you’re not sorry.
@10 is the DP fucking retarded?
@14
Thus it has ever been
@14-15: Yeah, that one’s not really a shocker, is it? Cf.
At 6:00am at Clark School, the line to vote extended out the building, all the way down the driveway and around the corner into the street, but it was moving quickly and I only waited about 45 minutes.
I just had a report of no line at all at 8 AM up on Pantops. Seems the pre-work crowd has thinned out.
I started standing in line at the Downtown Rec Center at 7:10 am and voted and left the building 27 minutes and 53 seconds later. The registrar and all the election officials did an excellent job.

CATEC at 6:45 this morning, about 35-40 minutes. Usually at that time it’s about 35-40 seconds.
I went into the Rec. center at 8:00 am and was out 10 minutes later. It took longer to walk to and from my parking spot than it did to vote.
@9: Thanks for the advice btw. I took it and you rock. Kisses.
also five minutes just now to vote at Elk’s Lodge (spoooooooky!! Cult!!!!!) on Rt 20 North.
Now is a good time at the downtown rec center. Just came from there. No line to speak of. In and out in less than 10 minutes.
Hope that isn’t josh from Beer Run….I may have to cancel my crush.
But Floozy, doesn’t it count how long it took to get to the polling place?
Dieeeeeeeeeter…. oh I do miss your Krautiness around here.
Venable — line out the door all the way to 14th St.
there was almost no wait at Clark Elem. this morning around 10.
Also it surprised me at Clark that a lot more people were using the machines. There were about 8-10 people waiting for the voting machines, but no line and lots of empty spaces at the desks for the paper ballots.
@31: That’s why I went with paper. It was fun, like taking a test. My apologies to the trees.
I do miss your Krautiness around here/i>
was I that sour?
Not sour…. but you are crap at html hahahahaha
Voting at Tonsler Park Rec was quick, 20 minutes all told at 10:30am.
I hear about quickies at Tonsler all the time in the paper.
Should rename it Tonsil Park really.
hubby and i were 2 of 5 voters at clark school @ 12:30
more voter officials than voters

Overall turnout reminded me of 1992 election.
That’s cause Shifflett comes between N-Z.
@40 wins the internetz today.
no line at elk’s lodge. freaking brilliant of virginia to have only 3 items on the ballot. in florida there’s like 50.

@42: He lives like 5 minutes from your house. Hahaha.
yikes!
Yes I do, but I mean you no harm…..Sweetie.
@40/41… that is bogus. I mad that joke or a similiar one early this morning.

@46: Please. That was before 8 am.
@48: Duhhhhhh
The code prevents my dear, but certainly I would warrant that I’ve seen your pleasant visage many times and am but a wander myself from Pantops center.
Oh I’m sorry… I didn’t know that pre 8am humor could not be entered in the daily internetz competition. Shen check your gmail.

@71 see echo, told you i’m golden haired!
@71: I’m not gonna lie, that creeps me out a little bit. Nice poem, btw.
