After a wonderful week if internally celebrating in our heads, we can finally put all that pent up sexual energy to use, its Friday after all. So here, we go…
Friday
- Drink wine for charity: well sort of…drink 5 wines at 5PM for $5 at Whole Foods this afternoon to benefit the C’VILLE BIKE MENTORS, a group of “expert” riders that educate us lame car driving folk how to bike better and ultimately save the world.
- Checkout cvilleMuse for info on gallery exhibits and a movie about our favorite Charlottesville Lady Arm Wrestlers (AKA CLAW)
- Girls in short shorts: UVa volleyball plays UNC tonight. This ain’t your high school gym class style of playing. If you have never been to a real volley ball game you should
- X-Lounge: live music and dinner bail out (one small and one big plate for $21, tues-sat 530-8pm)
Saturday (after the jump)
- 17th Annual Live Arts Gala and Glow After Party: the Gala Proper: 6:00 pm, $250 per person. (Includes AfterGlow) Afterparty (the Gala imProper): 11:00 pm, $40 per person presale. $50 at the door. Tickets On Sale Now!
- The Met Live in HD: Dr. Atomic at the Paramount: at 1PM you can catch the new opera everyone is talking about. I saw it this past week in New York and must give you caution…do not go expecting a traditional opera. This is so modern, you might think you are at a Broadway play. The singing is top notch, but the modern approach will kill any pubescent opera taste-buds if this is your first. There are a million themes in this opera and at times you could be confused as to wtf is going on. You are warned.
- Wine and Chocolate at Stone Mountain Vineyards 11am – 5pm. Join SMV as we pair gourmet chocolates with Stone Mountain Vineyards award winning red wines. No reservations required.
Is there anything we don’t know? Tell us and we will add it.

On Thursday’s and Friday’s at X Lounge, DJ Mega Myke is our DJ and does a pretty good job, Friday’s are always full of people dancing and having a good time. If you wanna check out his stuff you can visit nyceproductions.net or http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=366770969
Also, like Vanillavy stated, come in and try our Bail Out Dinner deal, it’s a really good deal, esp. with the more expensive big plates. Also, I don’t think a lot of people know but everyday from 5:30-7:30, we have a Grey Goose happy hour, which consists of $5 Grey Goose and basic mixers (like soda or tonic). $1 extra for martinis. Looks like it’ll be a beautiful afternoon/evening, come in and visit us X-Loungers!
whoops, stupid computer, my bad
$6 martinis??? nice. ladies get your dancing shoes on.
They have this one dish right now that is sublime and vegan. Baked marinated tofu cubes on crisp snow peas, with edamame, shiitake, and red pepper in a sesame vinaigrette. This is not advertorial, this is a heads up for my non-meat eating friends who might wanna try something new. It is so f’in good! It’s like $11?
It’s fucking delicious and I HATE tofu
tofu at x lounge? wow, i have to try this one. is it genuine though or some bullshit asian american fusion nonsense?
It’s pretty Asian. It’s like marinated in soy sauce and lemongrass and ginger and it’s firmer than anything I’ve ever been able to get at the store. Tastes like chicken.
cocoNUT is already bustin out his palate umbrage, watch out xlounge. And for the love of god dont serve him any got damned norwegian water.
Only plus side is if things go the way I suspect they will, he will not. come. back. EVER!
