Clothing and Toy Drive for cVillains in Need

toys
WCAV reports the Hope Community Center is holding a clothing and toy drive for local families in need.  This is a great opportunity to clean out your closet/attic and/or your children’s playroom.  I think we all need to feel little hope the way things are ending this year, so lets help out!

Organizers are looking to collect warm clothing like sweaters, jackets, and pants for all ages from infant to adult. Joshua Bare says, “Lots of people need a chance and they need that hope and so us distributing clothing is giving hope a chance, it’s giving hope a hand. It’s rebuilding confidence in their life”.

Get a map and address after the break:

The Hope Community Center is located at 341 11th St NW:

@3 You could take them to a prison. Or the Shelter for Help in Emergency, maybe. Or both.

Who fancies participating in a Cvillain Secret Santa? We could have a donation from everyone that participates and give the proceeds to a local charity. Anyone that wants to participate sends their screen name in and people are paired up randomly. We could open our prezzies up online and be offended/insulted/ delighted en masse…..$10 gift max and a $5 charity contribution.
I am sure we could bully a local business into acting as gift drop and pick up spot. Kyle…. what do you think? Let’s get something moving for a local group in need before Xmas.

then again, instead of scattering our site’s meager wealth across broad charity, we could chose one specific needy individual, and make that person a poster-child for one-on-one benevolent outreach. as Sally Struthers allowing you to support one distended-belly cute thrid-worlder to represent your goodwill towards all distended-belly third-worlders. Whom do we know in the community in dire straits and desperate need, poverty.

shall we collect rather some canned-goods, footie-pajamas and hairpins for HM?

now you’ve got me excited. to popularize Cvillain, we could do secret-santa but instead of for each other, for prominent members of the community–thereby drawing comment and scorn, also enlisting them in our merry endeavor: capshaw, HM, toscano, schilling, silverman, danielson, the Cville, various restaurants, various Mallstars, Cvillenews, etc etc

Hey, since I’m an adult now and married and all that stuff, I want to get a Christmas tree. I want to go and pick one out and cut it myself. Where would one do this here? My hero growing up was a former NY Yankee and Boston Red Sox player named Jackie Jensen and he used to have a farm in Fork Union that I’m pretty sure that you could do this. He was a great guy and I remember that I was 14 years old and was sitting in his office at his baseball camp talking baseball and later that day he died and the camp was cancelled. Traumatic for a 14 year old.

So, where can I cut my own tree? Bout time this thread turned into talk about aioli! Right?
