Need Charlottesville Catering Recommendations

catering charlottesville

A birdie asks…

Looking for a restaurant to cater a party. Maybe a place that does party trays for pickup? Any suggestions?

The X-lounge has a great catering company – it’s called The Event Company. They do a lot of the major events in cville.

I can stain your furniture and your ears, I guess it is eyes here. I also used to weld sheet metal door frames. However I can not cook.

We used Have Food Will Travel for our wedding three years ago and it was amazing. We also used it for my moms 60th birthday party as well. We very much recommend them. I also like The Greenwood Market which is owned by Nina and Dave. Great people that work very hard and know a great deal about treating folks right.

My old job used A Pimento catering (good but expensive) http://www.apimentocatering.com, but I agree, check out vmeals.com – TONS of caterers there, most of them restaurants. And actually, wouldn’t most restaurants do catering? If you give them enough notice? Did a wedding shower for my sister, and all I did was call our local Vietnamese place and order 50 rice paper rolls. I know Tokyo Rose will do sushi platters…………

Second Harvest Moon. They catered my wedding (and used Cakes by Rachel cake that was fabulous), and we couldn’t have been happier with the professional service and the excellent food (cheese/wine reception and dinner).

Having catered some events around campus, I’ve had good experience with both Harvest Moon and Foods of All Nations for reception catering.

Check out Beggars Banquet out of Orange. Great to work with. They will come to C’ville no problem. Did a dinner for 40 for me and they absolutely were willing to do non-traditional stuff. Stuffed sides of salmon, spliced pork loin and more… Can not recommend them highly enough.

Have Food Will Travel – I have been in their kitchen, and it is the cleanest operation I have ever seen – dishes shrink-wrapped between uses, everything steamed clean, etc. I have worked in many a fine restaurant with a filthy kitchen (Boar’s Head 20 years ago ), but this place has good food and a clean kitchen!
