No they didn’t give us a private jet…yet, but out of nowhere for absolutely no reason other than sheer kindness, the Charlottesville Airport dropped off a plate of double layer frosting filled airplane shaped brownies and Charlottesville Airport swag (luggage tags, luggage grips and bumper stickers). This totally made our Friday, thank you!
This is definitely more than we can polish off so if anyone wants to grab one, feel free to come on down to Spicy Bear HQ at the Lewis and Clark building off the downtown mall.

I love CHO.
Honestly, I made fun of having such a dinky airport when I first moved here, but anyone who travels for business has to appreciate the speed and ease of getting through CHO. I used to go to the airport two hours early when I lived in a major city. Now, I can waltz into the airport 30 minutes before boarding and still have time to get a cup of coffee.
Favorite CHO moment: waiting for a 6:10 AM flight, saw the gate agent boarding people for a 6:00 AM flight walk over to an elderly woman and remind her that she was on the 6:00 AM flight and that it was time to board (must have talked to her or checked her in earlier). If that had been Dulles, that little woman would have been left behind.
Charlottesville is a very nice regional airport agreed… Especially now that you can use the snack shop after security.
But… you can only get to like five places. So if you do business in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Charlotte, Atlanta, New York, or Detroit you are golden. If not and you are traveling to Montana, or Oregon or to another small city like Auburn, Alabama then you are fucked. I now drive to Manhattan or take The Starlight Express. Many times I have been left overnight at Laguardia or Atlanta trying to get back here because of thunderstorms or snow somewhere other than C-ville.
