We realize it’s not 75 degrees and sunny, but that doesn’t stop us from having a great weekend now does it? We’ve got some ideas for you that should work, regardless of the weather. For a start, we’ve got future stars, derby dames and booze. It’s all after the break…
Buy a cup for $10 and drink as much South Street hefe and pilsner as you can on the rooftop of Second Street Gallery. The event starts at 5:30PM on Friday and is a fundraiser for the gallery. Be there. They have indoors too, don’t worry.
Shake’N Bake. That’s right, Charlottesville’s hometown Derby Dames will kick Harrisonburg’s ass on Saturday. Doors open at 4PM, the event starts at 5PM and ticket are $7. What else are you going to do besides watch roller derby if it’s raining? Go cheer on Charlottesville.
The Sons of Bill have their CD release party at the Paramount on Friday. If you know any of these guys or just love pop country bluegrass, then you have to send Sons off before impending national stardom. Doors open at 7PM and tickets cost $15. By the way, did anyone in Charlottesville on Facebook not get an invite?
Boys and Girls Club kicks off its cycling challenge at the Downtown Mall Bank of America from 5 to 7 on Friday.
Don’t forget the farmer’s market on Saturday morning. Give yourself a mission and try to make an entire meal out of ingredients from the market.
What’s we miss? Any ideas for rainy summer weekends?
