So, what have we missed? Any delicious tidbits lingering on your lips since July 31st which you just can’t wait to share? Any openings, closing, shadytastic transactions going on which we should blow the lid off of? Who’s up for a party?

- Ventana closed for expansion! But it’s ok, don’t get salty sea foam tears all over your keyboards, because the space is getting ready to reopen shortly. Stay tuned for further info, and perhaps that party we mentioned…
- Tavola joined the Belmont crew with a wide assortment of delicious offerings in true Italian style, and has been staying PACKED every day they are open (5PM Tues-Sat). Expect a review in the weeks to come!
- CORNER ACTION EXTRAVAGANZA. Biltmore closes and reopens, Cantina is kicking it on a nightly basis, and something stirs in the old O’Neils space.
While we certainly don’t (yet) have the scoop on any of these, we certainly will be providing the most in depth and complete coverage of each. Post your juicy tidbits below, and we will get to the bottom of them!

Oh, and the new “O’Neil’s” is going to be called “Trinity,” has an upper patio, and apparently has (three?) different areas w/ different vibes / different music, etc.

Oh and we are apparently going to be more welcoming. Perhaps there’s a course planned or something. Online. With exams and stuff.

While we were working on re-opening, we received a great response from most, however, there were quite a few we spoke with that loved the site, but found that it wasn’t ‘welcoming’ enough. We aren’t here to make everyone ‘play nice’, but it is my goal to draw a greater readership and incorporate groups which historically didn’t frequent.

my second and wholly innocuous/milquetoast comment on the new site got me called a ‘fucking retard’: i’m not sure how things could be any more open and welcoming than that.
‘Welcome Back Cvillains’ has 403 views already. Presumably C-ville/Hook/CvilleNews will do write-ups and that’ll bring all the regulars and regular-lurkers home then the rest of us can fade from spamming the posts to keep things rolling, to our more piercingly relevant but sporadic commenting.
that UVA blog/board (other post) you correctly labeled as dreck… we haven’t had much of an under-grad following… perhaps we can reach out to all those bright shiny youngsters somehow and mulct them for ads and posts. i bet the cavcomix.com kids would love to link up with us somehow once they get their website unscrewed.

anyone seen the 9-11 ‘monument’ behind the Pavilion under the Avon St Bridge? it’s a small bronze thing on the grass with some kind of ornamental 4-foot strangled tree planted behind it. Just curious, is that the only such thing in Cville? it’s odd.
