cVillain Launches Club Villain

We eat out, we drink out, so why not create a weekly cVillain event at our favorite places, and interact more often?  Our first project launch since taking the reins is Club Villain, but what is it exactly?

  • An Open Weekly Event – Thrown at a location voted on by our readers
  • Restaurants – Put on an Exposé and show off what they are all about
  • Awesome Discounts – We will be structuring drink and food specials to start PROMPTLY at 9:00PM, get there early to partake in all the offerings
  • Gift Certificates & Other Prizes – To be given away throughout the night & online
  • Read The Review – Talk about your experiences the following day online, check out the photos, it’s all right here

We are working with local restaurants to open their doors and invite us in, and our only goal is to get people motivated and interested in enjoying what Charlottesville has to offer.  This is a free service to both the restaurants and to all those who wish to sign up, there are two options to connect with us:

  • Online – On the right hand side of the page you will see a block for Club Villain, submit your phone number for updates
  • Text In – Text CVILLAIN to 68398 to sign up

OK: but is this anything other than twenty people demanding special treatment because they talk shit on a blog? What is the point, other than reduced prices? Do something like the X lounge’s upcoming Dine & Donate & I’ll think about it.

“Dine & Donate” is exactly the concept that we should go with. “Demanding special treatment” or “cash” is self serving and not something I would like to participate in either. I do think aligning ourselves with charitable causes and making a difference if people’s lives would make us all feel a little better the morning after a night out drinking.

We are working on a few revenue generating resources to place in a fund, and given away quarterly at our primary parties, with our goal to match dollar for dollar contributions from our readership at these events, just like we did with the Ventana party this past Wednesday. With these weekly events we are looking to get people interested and talking about the best that our local restaurants have to offer. Not the cheapest. But the best.

I’m a huge fan of the new X-Lounge concept, and I’m looking forward to adding my tab to their list on Wednesdays.

I think it’s a cool idea. I think it could be like the drinking club but improved where that club is lacking. I don’t know how many times I talked to the organizer of that club about making it more visible and profitable.

Are you volunteering? We have a meeting with a place near and dear to your heart tomorrow, but it’s probably at a time when you may not be able to make it… We would love to have your input though.

I’m glad that there is agreement on the improved idea, I’m really excited about it, and we are getting good feedback from the restaurants so far.

As a wise man once said, I would never belong to a club that would have me.
