Club Villain – The Local Wrap

We had a delicious and classy evening last night @ The Local.  Theo & Adam showed off a few new drinks, and we got to try out a great selection of their appetizers.  They also had nothing but great things to say about cVillain, probably because we’ve been fans of theirs since the early days.  One lucky commenter will also win a pair of entrées on the house.

The Local’s pork chops with a nice glass of wine is delicious. They have a very romantic vibe, which I hope you enjoyed : ) If only they had better parking!

Yeah, I know what you mean about parking, but after they’re closed, you can park at Fitzgerald’s Tire place and at Belmont BBQ if you want. And I can usually find a street spot in the near vicinity, too. I agree with you about the pork chop, I think it’s the best thing on the menu. The mushroom ragout, the steak frites, the burger, and the new salmon are also very delicious, in my opinion. Has anyone tried Tavola? I ate there the other day and was very underwhelemed with EVERYTHING, from the drinks to the cuisine.

So, in an effort to actually follow through on some of these gift certificate giveaways, I’ve plugged in the post count to random.org, spun the dial, and come out with #2 having won. That’s you darlin.

Hey, if I influence it in any way, then I’m cheating someone. I think that if Tomas won, he would let it go to someone else.

I almost spun it again, don’t get me wrong. And I almost hit it when the number presented was 1 in the Mas thread. Irony is rife here @ cVillain, get your fill.

I love the Local for many reasons. One being its where I fell in love with gin. Second: The mushroom ragout dances on my tongue. I highly recommend it. And finally, I took a date there and the atmosphere was so amazing, and the people so kind that I was easily able to get the entire floor to sing him Happy Birthday.

    Love it. Cheers!

ugh, i would hate to go to a restaurant where the entire floor was singing happy birthday. the staff might as well be clapping.

When I was there, the whole floor was singing the numa numa song, which is why I have been a off kilter lately…

The local has a great vibe. My biggest complaint has always been the price/portions and unfortunately their specials reflected that. A group of us came straight from the little black dress party at siips and were ready for some good eats and fun drink specials. We got there just in time to order the anitpasto, tomato/basil and shrimp. At a little over a dollar per shrimp, I did not think they were worth the cost (although good job on the seaweed salad included). The antipasto was better. The ham was delicious and reminded me of spain, however, if the waiters hadn’t been nice and given us extra bread I’m not sure what we would of done.

As for the drinks, the margarita was too sweet, I couldn’t give it away. The salty dog was better, and my personal favorite was the Octoberfest (but I’m partial to fall brews). Overall, I would say this is a great place to hang out and have a drink with your friends, but I personally do not want to eat at a restaurant and have to ask which meal will give me the most food.

A dollar a shrimp is cheap, IMHO.

i’ve never broken down the cost of a meal per item on the plate

so wait, you only ordered apps and you’re saying you didn’t get full? Or am I mistaken and those menu items are entrees.

The math really sucks with a side of rice.

Is this a new trend? if it is then I’m going to start counting my food, but I need to know the protocol for noodles… is it by the individual noodle strand or linear foot? This is going to revolutionize meal times.Excited?…that would be me right now.Fuck yeah.
