Snark The Vote

With just under a week left to go before election day in Virginia (November 3), many local publications have put out voter guides/election previews.  And if there’s one thing cVillain does well, it’s put out.

But since we don’t do politics around here, I’ll just point you to other sites if you want serious coverage:

So now that all that is covered, we here at cVillain can get down to the important stuff.   We must get Scowly on the news.  Here’s the scenario: David Toscano is the delegate for the 57th district (covering Charlottesville and some of Albemarle County).  He’s basically running unopposed.  He’s going to win a walk.  Two years ago he won with 98.34% of the vote.  Well, we can make Scowly the second place finisher.  Vote however you like for Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, and City Council/Board of Supervisors.  Then, simply write-in “Scowly” for delegate.  Toscano will still win in a landslide, but we might just get enough votes to cause a slight ripple.

And at least we’ll be having fun.  I mean, who are we, Fails Church?

So who’s with me???  Yeeeeaargh!  Scowly for Delegate!  FREEEEEEEDOM!

    Scowly for Delegate!

umm…I thought Scowly died. In fact, didn’t we vote for a new mascot? What were the results? Also, what were the results for the best veggie burger? Enquiring minds want to know.

    /needing closure

The mascot voting didn’t quite go the direction I was looking for, as Floozy + Tequila won by a landslide. The original ‘here is our mascot, let’s name him’ thread had quite a few local artists peeved for not having had the chance to submit characters, however, we have yet to receive any. I’ve been speaking with a few artistic friends, and they are doodling in what spare time they have.

I’m HIGHLY interested in a new mascot. If anyone would like to send some creations in, please feel free.

I’ve been working with John (our recently added food reviewer) and another individual to try and lock down our procedure for restaurant reviews in general. I had hoped that my vegetarian Metallica friends from out of town were going to provide their highly cultured green taste buds to help determine a winner, but they turned out Vegan, and we couldn’t risk a few of the locations.

It’s all still on the plate. Let me get setup for the VA Film Fest, and we will follow up on this stuff in mid November.

P.S. It’s a close enough election to Halloween, perhaps it’s a Zombie Scowly.

there is actually someone running against Toscano- Brandon Smith, downtown denizen and frequent city council observer. He might be a good mascot too.

That’s why I said “basically running unopposed”. Smith has no shot. Scowly can beat him!

Creigh Deeds (the Democratic candidate for governor) will be downtown (at his campaign office on the mall) in half an hour (that’s noon, folks).

Bob McDonnell (the Republican) will be out at the airport at the same time.

Late notice, but in case anyone wanted to go.
