Friday:
The Paramount - Unlocks the vault for the original 1925 Phantom Of The Opera, with musical accompaniment by Matt Marshall and the Reel Music Ensemble. @ 8:00PM – $.25 [Info]
Outback Lodge - CAPTURED BY ROBOTS! They are freaking robots, and they play music! This is a one human show, with 5+ robotic band members (not people in costume). Pretty freaking awesome. @ 9:00PM - $6 [Info]
The Southern – Gypsy jazz? Viking-vaudeville? It could only be MAN MAN, the band so good they named it twice will be performing this evening. These guys have opened for Modest Mouse, and we’ve all probably caught them either in Weeds or that Nike commercial. @ 9:00PM – $15 [Info]
Downtown Mall - ZOMBIES! The living dead, accidental creations of a man made virus, designed to live on malted hops & tanqueray, are here for a night of MAYHEM. Meet up @ The Pavilion @ 10:00PM in full regalia to start off this crawl of all CRAWLS! $Free. [Info]
Live Arts – Is closed for now, but get your tickets ready for the Gala & Afterglow, coming up next weekend! [Info]
Saturday:
Escafe – Offers free face painting assistance for all those artistically challenged. @1:00PM – $Free [Info]
The X-Lounge - Night Of Fright, DJ dance party, all the ghosts & ghouls you can imagine. This was an awesome bar Halloween party to be at last year. @ 10:00PM – $Free [Info]
The Southern - Mass Sabbath VI. The Halloween only group is holding its SIXTH Charlottesville concert, and it promises to be quite the spectacle. This is the team which brought you the IX party last year. @9:00PM – $10 [Info]
Rapture – Kings Of Belmont are throwing a monster blowout costume contest and show at the bar we ALL end up at eventually. Prizes include everything from a ‘water pipe’ (cough, cough, say no more) to an ‘electric guitar’ (what will those crazy kids think up these days). @ 8:00PM – $Free [Info]

Remember one and all, Easter Slaying Time kicks in November 1st @ some evening hour, so I’d imagine the bars will be staying open to celebrate. I would also imagine that police patrols will be quite increased.
Take a taxi! It’s far less humiliating then getting arrested in costume.
I can’t wait for The Smoking Gun’s Halloween mugshot round up.
is that Jon Lovitz in the picture?
Thanks for the plug for Charlottesville Derby Dame’s Daylight Slayings bout. We’re really excited about it and hope Charlottesville will come out and support us and cheer us on. Slight corrections, doors open at 4 and the bout starts @5. Also, tickets at the door $8 and in advance, they are only $5! You can get your tickets at Blue Moon when you stop in for brunch, at Black Cat Skate Shop, at Harley’s Restaurant in Waynesboro (where our after-party is being held) or online at brownpapertickets.com. You can also buy them from any Dame. We hope to see you there!
Updated & corrected! Thanks.
What a great night. Costumes where amazing, donations where generous, and beverages plentiful. Ouch!
