In an effort to reduce carbon emissions, Albemarle County is giving away free compact florescent lightbulbs. For free. As in, if you’re a cVillain by heart, but not home, and live in that dreaded County of Albemarle, you can go pick up a free bulb at the county office building.
First come, first lit. Get on it.

The Albemarle High School track team went to nationals this year, where the boys (men? It’s been too long since high school to remember if they are called boys or men) relay team placed second overall.
They finished the 4×800 with a speedy little time of 7:42.21. If I’m doing my maths right, that’s about 2 miles. This comes in as the second fastest time in all of Virginia history. Apparently they fell short of some team that included Alan Webb (the American record holder for the mile, and basically the greatest American mid-distance runner ever).
So I think congratulations are in order for Garrett Bradley, Anthony Kostelac, Luke Noble, and Zach Vrhovac. Thanks fellas, you do your hometown proud!
