We’ve heard from a reliable birdie that the former Hardware Store location is being converted to an Urban Outfitters. It makes sense given the store’s size and the standard size of U.O. shops.
We think this rumor has some wings and it looks like the cat is finally out of the bag. Thank you birdie! I’m sure mall people are not happy about this.

We were coming back from lunch and there was a big stench of leaked gas. Someone must have called the police. Now there are a bunch of firetrucks and official looking people blocking the Ridge/250 W intersection. Anyone have more deets? Can the TV station get out here!?
I know we all like to think of ourselves as ballers and all that, but how much do we really spend eating and drinking in Charlottesville? I just looked at my expenses for the last few weeks and let me tell you.. I was very surprised at how much I spent on food and drinks at restaurants and bars. I guess the other question is “will you maintain this spending after you realize how much you spend?”

Many of you complained about our nighttime pictures from the top of the crane because the quality wasn’t so good. Hey, what can you expect with a bunch of hoodlums? We’ve had an official member of the construction site provide us with some of the sweetest pictures from the top of the crane. He said we had a better chance of winning the lottery than getting to the top, but provided these pictures instead.
Also, he reminds you that the crane is very dangerous, so don’t try to climb to the top! The first picture in the slideshow is of 560 ft VA Beach Behemoth which would tower over our little 160 ft baby beast. The rest are from Charlottesville’s Landmark Hotel Construction Site!
1. The Tavern (on Emmett) been closed since at least Saturday, with a sign on the door about re-training. (Although I haven’t looked today.)
2. The Health Department report. Do you ever look at the Virginia Dept of Health Restaurant Inspections site? Huuge time-waster. Anyway, the most recent report for the Tavern was extremely negative [link].
You have got to love when the bikers have to dodge the person who has no idea how to parallel park. Seriously dude!? This parking job is not even close to being ok. It’s near ACAC; too bad it’s not a cop!
The following geniuses from the UVa football team were arrested over the weekend for allegedly stealing beer from a cooler at 216. If true, upcoming Senior Will Barker and upcoming Sophomore Dave Roberts should be applauded for their allegedly stupid acts. Dave really steals the show…he is 19 and allegedly had a fake ID on him, allegedly.
